Empire Online reports:
Empire reports that Paz Vega (Spanglish) and Daniel Bruhl (Inglourious Basterds) will front run Castro's Daughter, the story of exiled Alina Fernandez. Based on her Exile's Memoir of Cuba, the film will be directed by Bobby Moresco, who co-wrote Crash.
Fernandez is the illegitimate daughter of Fidel Castro, and one of his most vocal critics. Her dissenting political views led her to flee Cuba, heavily disguised, in 1993. She's been living in Miami ever since, where her otherwise middle-of-the-road Simply Alina radio show devotes every Wednesday evening to Cuban politics. Filming starts in Puerto Rico in the Spring.
