Deadline New York says that Bryan Singer's obligations to begin production on Jack the Giant Killer will remove him from the directing position and he will now only be producing X-Men: First Class.
According to the report, Fox is already in talks with a few directors it's short-listed who may be able to start production as early as summer or fall for a 2011 release.
Unfortunately, this isn't the first time that WB snagged Singer from an X-Men project. In 2006, he was set to direct Superman Returns for WB, preventing him from directing X-Men: The Last Stand.
