'Green Lantern' Updates!
Source: SuperHeroHype/SlashFilm
There has been two big announcements attached to the Green Lantern film adaptation. The first comes from SuperHeroHype, which says that Jon Tenney will play Hal Jordan's dad, test pilot Martin H. Jordan.
The second announcement is from SlashFilm, who has discovered that Ryan Reynolds has spent his time on set wearing a grey motion/performance capture suit, the reason being that the Green Lantern suit in the movie will be created using computers (CG).
Here are a few reasons as to why the move to CG has been made:
-Costume designer, Ngila Dickson, was given the task of trying to find a way to do something that stands apart from all of the other superheroes spandex suit designs that we've seen before.
-The Green Lantern suit is something that should look like a alien, it needs to seem other worldly. It encompasses any creature that wears the ring, and Hal Jordan is the first human to ever wear the suit. He also changes into the suit multiple times mid-scene and the CG allows him to do this.
Green Lantern hits theaters in 3D and 2D on June 17th, 2011.
