"You mustn't be afraid to dream a little bigger, darling."
'Inception' means to take something or in this case plant something that wasn't there, in a dream. This is a heist film crossed with 'The Matrix' and 'Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind'. When you here that it might sound like a cluster fuck of epic propositions, but it really isn't.
Dom Cobb (Leonardo DiCaprio) is a skilled thief, the absolute best in the dangerous art of extraction, stealing valuable secrets from deep within the subconscious during the dream state, when the mind is at its most vulnerable. Now Cobb is being offered a chance at redemption. Instead of the perfect heist, Cobb and his team of specialists have to pull off the reverse: their task is not to steal an idea but to plant one. If they succeed, it could be the perfect crime. But no amount of careful planning or expertise can prepare the team for the dangerous enemy that seems to predict their every move. An enemy that only Cobb could have seen coming.
I really don't know where to start. This movie is so great. I'm still trying to piece together everything I loved about it. For the reason, that I loved it all and it's so hard to pick one point. But this movie digs so deep within the subconscious, unless your paying attention your going to get lost. For the reason that this movie is basically a puzzle film as well.
The movie goes so deep into the subconscious, I got very fascinated with it and where Christopher Nolan was taking it. I can see who some people are not going to like this because people might see this as work. For the reason, that you have to really think while your in deep into the film. Ellen Page is the new one on the team. She is known as the architect. She is the one who builds the dreams, for the team to go in.
The film is written so air tight, it really makes a solid film. Joseph Gordan-Levitt has pretty much the greatest fight scenes that I have ever scene. He is the high light of the film for me. It was so awesome, it was a mind trip. The second half is packed with action and terrific cinematographer, all I could do is sit back and be amazed. Now the two ways to get out of the dream is to either get shot and die in the dream, or get "kicked" which is when in real life someone gives you the sense of falling so you wake up.
My review, in no way, does this great film justice. The only way for you to understand my love for this film is to GO SEE IT! It's one of the greatest visual/action/twisted mind trip movies I have every scene. So do yourself a favor, and get out of your dream and into this one.
