"Edge Of Darkness" Movie Review

To start off you have to keep in mind that Mel Gibson hasn't acted in 8 years. And this is the type of movie that he's going to star in to bring him back in the spot light. Martin Campbell returns to directed in a familiar territory with this remake of his own 1985 BBC miniseries.

The plot is about,'homicide detective Thomas Craven investigates the death of his activist daughter, he uncovers not only her secret life, but a corporate cover-up and government collusion that attracts an agent tasked with cleaning up the evidence.'

As far as characters go, Craven (Gibson) is fantastic. After a 8 year absence from acting Gibson picked a good role to get back in. Ray Winstone does an alright good in the film. I just had two problems with his character. One was when he talked he was worse than Benicio Del Toro in 'The Usual Suspects'. Second Winstone was always sneaking up on people like hes a ninja or something. And no offense to Ray Winstone, but he's around 300 pounds I think. I mean how can you not hear him coming?

But overall, this is a detective movie. It's not all action, like it's played off to be in the trailer. But I like that about the film. Moral of the story don't fuck with Mel Gibson or his children! On to the rating, I have to give this movie a WORTH IT! The movie left me on the edge of my seat trying to figure out the murder just like Mel in the movie.
