'The Wolfman' Movie Review!

The Wolfman! I have to say I went into this movie with not to high of expectations, I came out with different thoughts. But this is of course is a remake of the 1941 film 'The Wolf Man'. The plot is mainly about; Lawrence Talbot (Del Toro) upon his return to his ancestral homeland is bitten, and leads to Talbot being cursed, by a werewolf. The film also stars Anthony Hopkins as 'Sir John Talbot' and Emily Blunt as 'Gwen Conliffe'.

To start out Benicio Del Toro, feels a kind of out of place. Not to say that Del Toro can't act (he's one of my favorite actors), but in certain parts he feels miscast. But when he does pull through, man does he. This is one of Del Toro's passion projects. He watched the great Lon Chaney Jr. play 'The Wolf Man' in the 1941 film. And Chaney severed as a mentor to Del Toro ever since.

The film is very well done. I really liked the atmosphere of the film, it suits it well, as it should. I also loved that they didn't have to much CG. The wolf man is old school make-up and prosthetics. As Del Toro wished. That was a real one up for me!

I also really liked Hugo Weaving in the film. He is bad ass in here. Weaving and Hopkins defiantly stole the show for me. Hopkins walks through the movie playing the hell out of everything he gets. Plus, he just has this creepy grin through out the movie that will stay with you. Weaving is extraordinary in here when ever he's on screen he steals the scene.

Last the gore in the film is awesome! They did a great job with it. I got to give them major props on that. If your a fan of gore, in this fashion, then you won't be disappointed. All around there is bloody great scenes in here.

So, down to my rating. I think the movie is defiantly WORTH IT! It's a extraordinary remake of the 1941 classic. Don't get me wrong nothing can beat the '41 version! But this does a very good job of retelling the classic.
